Register now for Coalition of Resistance Conference

The Coalition of Resistance is having its first National Organising Conference on Saturday November  27 in the Camden Centre Bidborough St, London WC1 from 10am-5pm.

Details of speakers and workshops will be published shortly but the aim of the conference is to build on the Coalition’s successful demonstration outside Downing Street on the evening of the Comprehensive Spending Review. It will be an opportunity for trades unionists, campaigners,  students, pensioners and all those who oppose the Con Dems’ anti-working class programme to come together to be part of organising the fightback and proposing an alternative solution to the deep economic crisis that is destroying the lives of millions.

The conference will hear speakers from those struggles and from delegates from the anti-cuts and anti-privatisation groups springing up in this country. There will be workshops and the opportunity for all to have their voices heard.

This branch  is committed to taking an active part in defending jobs and public services against the attacks which the government is preparing on them.

We will seek to work with national and locally based organisations which share this view. We will aim to encourage them to work together to build the largest possible movement of public sector staff, trade unionists, service users and supportive public figures who are willing to resist rather than support cuts and job losses. To this end, we welcome the establishment of the local Hands Off our Public Services campaign .

We  note that, the National Organising Conference called by the Coalition of Resistance on Saturday November 27 in the Camden Centre, London offers an opportunity to meet with many others who take a similar approach and this branch  agrees to sponsor up to six delegates to attend.
