This is scanned newsprint, not web text. The original PDFs carried no text layer at all, so every word here was read off the page by OCR. Expect dropped opening letters, run-together words and wrong characters. There was no contents page to cut the paper up by, so the articles were found from the size of their headlines: a headline may carry its kicker, and where an article ran beside a boxed panel a few lines of the neighbour can appear. The scanned issue is the authority; this text is here so the words can be found at all.

Gothenberg has had a huge effect on people in Sweden. There was a tendency for the government to say the anti-capitalist movement were terrorists. The last time the Swedish police shot demonstrators was in 1932, during the Adalen strike. Sweden has educated its people in a model of freedom and justice. Young people have been brought up to fight for their rights, for justice and world peace, but when this happened they were shot by the police.

A movie has recently been made about Gothenberg and those who were convicted called "The Terrorist" where young people involved in the protests are interviewed in the movie. One is a woman of 17 who lives at home with her father. In the weeks after the protests the military police raided people's homes to arrest activists. The woman was at home dying her hair when the military police came with

All the charges against - in Sweden this is more like 25 because of the housing crisis, particularly where I live in Stockholm. In extreme cases students have to sleep in tents at the beginning of the semester, while they are trying to sort out somewhere to live. Sweden faced a similar problem in the 1960s, so they implemented the "million project" and built housing in the suburbs. People are now calling for another such project.

All the companies that build houses have been privatised. The social democrats in Stockholm bought a big house in the middle of Stockholm to build student housing but it is really expensive and will only be accessible to upper class students

As socialists we mainly work in networks with other left groups, and activists from

the social movements such as the anti-war and anti-capitalists. We also do electoral work and have one seat in a small town in Sweden, noted for strong trade union activity, which we have held for the last 15 years.

We stood in the national elections last year and got 3000 votes, our organisation has 300 members. We're also very involved in Palestine solidarity work and we have six members currently out in Palestine with the International Solidarity Movement."
