Resolutions were brought to the assembly by local groups and individuals. Those passed included one calling "For a sustained and focused campaign against the US-UK occupation of Iraq", including a greater diversity of targets and tactics than hitherto, such as non-violent direct action against companies profiting from the occupation.

Jeremy Corbyn MP highlighted again the hypocrisy of the UK government talking about human rights abuses around the world whilst selling weapons to the very people who use them to abuse human rights.

Louise Christian drew attention to the legal position of the US and UK governments: in breach of the UN Charter, Articles 3 and 4 of the Geneva Convention, and Article 14 of the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights. She highlighted the illegality of the US and UK occupation, which is in breach of Article 4 of the Geneva Convention, which obliges occupying armies to be responsible for peace and security and not to dismantle national institutions.
