Is we go to press news has just reached uS that two more deputies have been suspended from the PT, Luciana Genro and one other, for publishing a speech made by Lula afew years ago, attacking pension reforms.
In a chilling turn of events the landowning parties have begun to smash the factory occupations organised by the MST and CPT. Lula has invoked a Cardoso law exluding sections of land from the reforms demanded by the movement.
This is a betrayal of the people who voted for the PT. Socialist Resistance is circulating an inter national petition to defend the three members facing expulsion from the PT. We believe in the spirit of democracy. and tolerance which has been a characteristic of the PT since its beginning
