UNISON'S BREAKTHROUGH pay outs totalling £96 million, with many staff entitled to back pay of up to £100,000. The rises could be as much as £8,000 a year for a D grade nurse and a £4,000 a year increase with a 2-hour cut in working week for a cook - all backdated 12 years! And the result could raise NHS pay across the board. It is not surprising that the Department of Health, desperately seeking to keep a lid on NHS pay, under the Agenda for Change pay deal.

The debate we are interested in is about how socialist organisation and politics should be represented. Having more women as officers and public representatives doesn't guarantee socialism but then neither has 90% of them being men. society.
