It is abundantly clear that Tommy Sheridan has lied big time when confronted with the reality of his sexual deceit towards his obviously loyal partner.
She clearly believed she had the ideal monogamous mate in Tommy Sheridan and rather than admit to his adventures and strayings she is in denial that they could have happened and Tommy Sheridan has leapt on the shoulders of his wife's loyalty and denied it all too.
Had Tommy Sheridan been an ordinary bloke we wouldn't have got to hear about his misdemeanors unless he and his wife had chosen to go on daytime TV's Trisha and face the public lie detector test! Tommy Sheridan is not just an ordinary working class bloke though and his actions have damn near destroyed the SSP.
It was he who has dragged the party through the courts and put his comrades in the unenvious position of having to tell the truth in public, in a bourgeois court, against him.

Yes, I guess they may have made a couple of mistakes along the way, but I do not believe that testifying in court was one of them. On the contrary, I think that in these situations we can do nothing but tell the truth as we see it.
Truth is the most elemental building block of trusting relationships. Tommy Sheridan like his counterpart in Respect, George Galloway, has shown himself to have the most casual relationship with truth and trust and this is absolutely no basis whatsoever to try and reach out to the vast majority of politically disengaged people who distrust all politicians and think they're all in it for personal gain.
What a terrifying thought that they may collaborate now in some new political adventure! In Tommy Sheridan's case it is a particularly sad outcome as he was one of the most charismatic class tighters in recent history -but it is a spectacular example of why folk's egos need to be kept in check when the inevitable rush of blood comes to the head of those coming into positions of power. Feminists and socialists should have much to say about that.
