the Iraqi Oil Employees Federation spoke at an number of trade union meetings during his visit to Britain organised by Iraq Occupation Focus and also at the Peace Conference organised by the Stop the War (STW) coalition.

Following that conference, a special meeting of the SW steering committee was held with those who had addressed the conference from both Iraq and the US.

One of the important outcomes of this meeting was an undertaking from the STW leadeship to attempt to bring Juma a or another representative of the union over to address meetings at various national trade union conferences.
