13) Phil Hearse's contribution to the TW C heavily involved in organising with author John Holloway, Hilary Wainwright from Red Pepper and Fausto Bertinotti from Rifondazione Comunista in Italy.

Apart from Phil's contribution, we agreed with much of what Hilary had to say in her

initial introduction, in particular about the fact that many of the issues that Holloway considers to have been newly posed by organisations like the Zapatistas in Mexico were in fact raised by the second wave of feminism in the 1970's. Resistance youth organised a successful meeting in collaboration with the SSY and other youth organisations with whom we work the rest of Europe. We also organised a meeting on Brazil, which was addressed by Joao Machado, who was able to give a more extended analysis than at our rally on Thursday night of the way the Lula government has dashed the hopes of many of those who voted for it.

In addition Fred Leplat from Resistance spoke for UNISON United Left, and Olivier Besancenot from the LCR spoke at the Respect rally.

All in all Resistance had an extremely successful ESF
