Far right, racist and fascist parties are getting a high profile. The BNP, with its Holocaust deniers, got 2 Euro MPS elected and plays the respectable card. The English Defence League organises the street demos in Harrow against the mosque, and in Birmingham to “reclaim Britain”. Other parties such as UKIP are equally dangerous.

The ground for the rise of the far right has been prepared by New Labour and the Tories. They both take a hard line against asylum seekers and those who refuse to “integrate”. They argue that the “white working class” has been forgotten. And the War Against Terror has created a climate where any Muslim is considered a potential terrorist.
We now need to mobilise against the far right in its attempt to terrorise communities. We also need to all come together to defend our jobs, wages and public services against their attempt to make us pay for their crisis.
