Ian, a long-time friend and a former member of the Fourth International in West London, has recently died. There is a tribute to him on the Surrey Unison website with a connected online condolences book. The funeral arrangements are explained in this letter from the branch secretary
Dear Colleagues
Everyone is welcome to come to the funeral and reception.
Carol wants the event to be a celebration of Ian's life and work and has asked Paul to speak, along with another one of Ian's closest comrades.
The funeral is on Friday 27th November at Worthing Crematorium, Horsham Road, Findon, Worthing BN14 0RG at 12pm midday. The reception afterwards will be at the Black Horse Pub, High Street Findon BN14 0SX. Carol has suggested family flowers only but anyone who wishes to take flowers can do so .
Carol has asked that all cards, printed emails etc be collected in one box and given to her at the funeral.
Carol has also expressed her gratitude to everyone for all their thoughts and has been looking at Ian's condolence book. She thinks the decision to set up a Marxist memorial library in Ian's name is a wonderful tribute and would like all donations to go towards this project.
