Our planet faces catastrophic natural disaster. Forests are cut down and wetlands drained. Water extraction turns farmland into desert. Species extinctions run at 75 a day. Oceans are polluted by plastic waste, food supplies by fertilisers, herbicides, and pesticides.Agribusiness creates deadly viruses and intercontinental supply-chains turn them into global pandemics. Carbon pollution accelerates, global temperatures rise, and entire regions are desiccated, flooded, or devastated by storms.
Tens of millions of lives have been ruined. Soon it will be hundreds of millions.
Uncontrolled corporate power is to blame. Unplanned capital accumulation is to blame. An economic system beyond democratic control is to blame.
