Every section of our community is under relentless assault by the Tories. Benefit cuts penalise the disabled, the NHS is near to collapse, social housing is being sold off, schools are becoming exam factories and trade union rights have all but been eliminated. Meanwhile, essential public services and jobs are once more threatened as Croydon Council again passes on government spending cuts.
Our Assembly will rally every section of the community against this reactionary government. We simply cannot afford to wait until 2020 and a chance to vote them out. Croydon must unite with other communities with the aim of removing the Tories as soon as possible.
At our Assembly on March 19 we will launch a Manifesto with policies we can come together around to guide us in this fight. Speakers from different parts of the community will speak about their struggles and the policies in the Manifesto which look to a more equal, fairer and democratic future.
