The Unity coalition

This is the paper's own web text, not OCR. It comes from socialistresistance.net, the site the paper ran before it moved to WordPress, recovered from the Internet Archive. Nothing here duplicates a piece already in the Newspaper or Magazine sections: anything that matched one was held back. Spelling and punctuation are as the paper published them.

From small beginnings we are moving on to be a new force in British Politics.

Oliur Rahman, our ace candidate

Respect the Unity Coalition would like to thank its members and supporters and the voters of St Dunstans and Stepney ward for electing Oliur Rahman as their councillor, against the opposition of the combined might of the established parties who were out in such force today.

The votes were as follows

Oona King and Jim Fitzpatrick (who was seen campaigning with the smile slipping from his face) had better watch out. We are coming for you.

A new style of politics is making its mark. A party free of corruption and greed. That will voice the aspirations and needs of working people from all sections of the community. A party opposed to a war that should never have taken place. A party pledged to fight privatisation of our public services. A party that puts people before profits.

Shock waves will be felt in Westminster. This is the beginning on which we shall build.

Once again thanks to everyone. We all did very well.
